After years of living with only one another, twin sisters Juliette and Beatrice long for something, or someone, new to bring excitement to their dreary lives. One morning a lonely traveling salesman, Zeb Ebelbu, appears on their doorstep selling his wares. Although dramatically different women, Zeb finds both sisters charming and tries to win their affections. In doing so, he unwittingly gives life to long buried resentments and betrayals. Set in a surreal world where dreams mingle with reality, taxidermy bugs come to life, and a man sells oven-mitts in the dead heat of summer, THE INSECT CHORUS is an unexpected twist on the conventions of "Once upon a time."
